When we started Pay-i shortly after the ChatGPT moment, we knew that AI was going to change how every business on the planet operated. We set out to build a platform to help organizations deal with this. We started with handling cost management, since AI is both unique and challenging in how it impacts the bottom line.

Over the years, we evolved to help organizations manage every dimension of how AI is impacting their business. This means not just tackling finances but thinking more holistically about what this moment requires for organizations to thrive.

After thousands of conversations over several years, we landed on an elegantly simple description of the problem. In order to truly excel in an AI-first world, an organization needs to care about:

1. The Inputs: How users are leveraging AI, including the types of prompts they are providing and the surrounding context.
2. The Activity: The details of the work which AI performs as a result, down to the most minute, even sub-token level granularity, where the real insights reside across much more than just cost.
3. The Outcomes: As work is continually augmented or completed by AI, what is the net impact, or value, of that work on the business?

Pay-i was already the world’s most advanced cost management solution for AI. But we realized that the solutions to tackling Enterprise AI Management holistically were as novel as they were absent from today’s standard business practices.

Today, we become Ascerta.

The name changed because we did. Our product, our thinking, our ambition, all of it got bigger.
